We had to take our dog here in an emergency and he sadly had to be put down. The situation was horrible, but the service and care we received from Woodcroft Vets was impeccable. We called ahead and the receptionist was calm and gave us clear instructions. When we arrived there was a whole team waiting for us and they rushed us straight in to the emergency room. My wife and I were then shown into an empty treatment room so we could have privacy. Once the initial assessment had been done the vet came through and spoke to us really clearly and compassionately about the situation, and gave us all of the options available, but also was realistic and completely honest with us. We were kept fully informed throughout, and were given the time and space we needed to make the really hard decision to put our dog down. When this was decided they gave us time with him to say goodbye (he was intubated and under general anaesthetic at this point) and then allowed us to stay while he was put down and offered us further time to spend with him afterwards. They then took paw prints for us so that we had something to take home, and put them in a sympathy card with a hand written message. We couldn’t have asked for more from all the staff during this incredibly stressful and sad experience. Thank you

I took a sick pigeon in and I knew by the look on the Receptionist’s face immediately she saw the box in my hand that she would not take it in. I was under the impression that Vets had to treat wildlife. The receptionist was very off about this poor bird. I hope she never has to face ill health I wonder how she would feel if she was turned away from treatment to help her feel better. What a horrible person. She shouldn’t work in a vets practice as she obviously has no compassion. She was a small, heavy, red faced woman KARMA!! Obviously, only nice to people who are paying. I intended to put in their charity box to cover the costs of looking after the bird but didn’t bother as she had no intention of helping this poor bird. I took the bird to Harrisons Vets on Princess Parkway and one of their vets took the bird to a bird sanctuary in Bury so I gave her the donation for either her petrol money or a donation for the bird sanctuary. Thank you so much to Harrisons Vets. I’ll be leaving a glowing review on their website.

The separate waiting room for cats is a fantastic idea. It takes some of the stress out of the dreaded visit to the vets for my cat. Staff are lovely, knowledgeable, and friendly. I'm incredibly happy to have chosen Woodcroft Vets.

I've always been so happy with the care my pets and I have received from Woodcroft. Most recently one of our cats was treated for FIP and his care - including at the hospital for several nights - has been second to none. Thanks to the care from the vets, nurses, reception team and more he's made a full recovery. Over the years Woodcroft have cared for all our pets and managed everything from routine jabs to complex care, emergencies and euthanasia and I I'd not consider going anywhere else. Thank you.

Always a pleasure. We have a shar pei who can at times be a challenge, however they are always really good with him. On our latest visit the vet we saw made our dog at easy by offering him treats and making a fuss of him before trying to examine him. I feel this really helped and therefore made the appointment totally stress free for all. He was very responsive to his needs and we came away feeling relieved and the pain medication our dog needed. He has totally settled since and a lot more comfortable. Thank you 😊
