RSPCA Animal Centre (RSPCA Wirral & Chester branch) focuses on rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of cats and dogs rather than routine pet veterinary appointments. The website states they rehome around 500 cats each year and have a small kennel facility used for dogs rescued by inspectors. In reviews, people most often describe adoption experiences, help with taking in cats needing care, and immediate support for a distressed stray (oxygen given straight away).

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Truly Outstanding Animal Centre The RSPCA Wirral is an absolutely wonderful place, and I cannot speak highly enough of the incredible team who work there. Every member of staff clearly puts an immense amount of care and dedication into ensuring the animals receive the best possible treatment and experience during their stay. A special mention goes to Mark, who took the time to explain to a group of children exactly how the process works—from caring for an animal right through to adoption. He did this with such skill and sensitivity, making sure the children understood without ever upsetting them. Watching him share his knowledge with the younger generation was inspiring; it’s the kind of experience that sparks interest in animal welfare and could lead to future careers in the sector, ultimately helping to save more animals. The entire team creates a positive, welcoming environment for both the animals and visitors. The facilities are excellent, and the atmosphere is one of genuine compassion and professionalism. If you’re considering supporting or visiting an animal centre, I wholeheartedly recommend RSPCA Wirral. They are doing truly amazing work.

Very helpful on finding place for two cats that needed looking after.

Unbelievable! I phoned them and get a call routing message that leads nowhere! Basically phoning them pays them for absolutely nothing but wasting your time and money, ultimately at the expense of your pet.

Took a stray in distress cat and they gave it oxygen straight away, said they would do there best for it and rehome if all went well for it. They are very caring and efficient.

This is a wonderful place where animals are treated with care and professionalism. The animal facilities are clean and cozy, the animals are well-groomed and happy waiting for their forever home.

We adopted our cat from here and I cant fault the staff one bit. So friendly and knowledgeable. I'd definitely recommend this branch and would definitely return to adopt another pet. The picture is our little princess, our little cupcake.

Great place fell for a small cat who has had a bad start in her short life. Adopted her and she has become the most faithful little thing ever not an once of trouble.
